Emily Horowitz is the author of Protecting Our Kids? How Sex Offender Laws Are Failing Us (Praeger, 2015) and the forthcoming From Rage to Reason: Why We Need Sex Crime Laws Based on Facts, Not Fear (Praeger, 2022). She is a professor of sociology and criminal justice at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, where she founded and co-directs a scholarship program for the formerly incarcerated.
