There is tremendous amounts of research & experimental data and more and more facts that exists today that didn't exist two decades ago that can better inform & educate decisions. Most importantly, the myth of high sex offender recidivism is no longer sustainable in the face of volumes of studies conducted in states from coast to coast. Some do present a future risk...but MOST don't. The facts should ALWAYS be first. Its time to pro-actively use accurate data to REFORM OUR LAWS and CREATE A MORE INTELLIGENT REGISTRY THAT TARGETS THE TRULY DANGEROUS BUT ALLOWS THE VAST MAJORITY OF LAW ABIDING FORMER OFFENDERS & THEIR FAMILIES MORE SUPPORTIVE WAYS TO REBUILD THEIR LIVES. EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE.
